I’m Erica Lowe, an artist & teacher based in beautiful Gloucestershire in the UK.  I enjoy experimenting & making art with all types of media, but my true passion is watercolour. I love large, loose & vibrant watercolours & the excitement I feel when painting them!

I come from an artistic family & have always been encouraged to create (my mother was the artist Vera Lowe). Both of my siblings were also artistic, but chose to pursue other interests; I was the one who had the good fortune to go to art college! I studied art to degree level & have   been creating ever since. For over 18 years I have worked as a lecturer in Adult Education & love teaching almost as much as I love creating art!

After  many years’ experience teaching art to adults in real life I’m extremely excited to be developing my teaching into e-courses. I’m eager to explore the possibilities it holds for creating & connecting the energy & ideas of participants from around the world!

I believe that developing artists need both a supportive environment & a skilled tutor to enable them to learn new skills & develop their creativity. Art should be about the excitement of learning through creating & experimenting. The Watercolour Journals is the space I have created to share my skills & experience through my courses.

I hope that you will take a few moments to check out the e-courses & that you will find something that will capture your imagination & inspire you to sign up!

There is also a Watercolour Journals  Facebook group for us to share art & creative ideas & I would be honoured if you would join us. All types of drawing & water-based media work is welcome. The group can be found by clicking here

Best wishes

Erica x
